CCNF results from the MAPACA Jubilee Fleece Show
With some official results posted the other day on AOBA’s web site, we are now able to start reporting on some of our our winnings from the spring fleece shows! MAPACA was the first fleece show of the spring for us, and like the PAOBA Breeder’s Showcase which followed shortly thereafter, our fleece entries in Harrisburg represented the last hurrahs for several fleeces from our 2012 clip. Considering that many of those had been shown at least 2 times last year, and were therefore rather pawed over, we were especially pleased with our results!
While our Precocious boys, Invictus (who is already a proven breeder) and Bellagio (who is just beginning to work as a Herdsire here, though more on that in a later post) continued to shine, it was also notable that our beloved Cadenza again managed to add to her already rather gaudy collection of Championships and specialty awards. For those unaware of Cadenza’s importance to the recent history of our breeding program: her older son, CCNF Concerto (also our only remaining SuperNova son), is already a working Herdsire here in the Stud Barn and his little brother, CCNF Defiance (the white Champion at the 2013 NAAS), will hopefully be operational either by late this year or certainly come the spring of 2014 (Big D doesn’t turn 2 until this coming January). Timing aside, we already have females picked out for him. And in any case, it’s not by luck though that Cadenza’s boys are what they are: it’s elite fiber genetics in action. Safe to say that we hope to see many little Cadenza grand-babies at play in our pastures in the years ahead!
