Oh, Brother: CCNF Nativity Lot #14 at the Futurity Sale!

We are thrilled to announce that our young Champion male, CCNF Nativity, has been consigned to the upcoming Futurity alpaca sale, which will be held on April 18th in Kansas City, MO! For those that are not already aware, Nativity is the full sibling of 2012 Futurity Judges’ Choice winner, CCNF Elixir, and the maternal . . . → Read More: Oh, Brother: CCNF Nativity Lot #14 at the Futurity Sale!

Making the fleece rounds…

The temperatures in northern New England have been fairly rude for the past month. Amongst other things, it has meant that the sartorial choices of those of us that work the farm have tended to be long on comfort and short on style, though the cold has not been entirely devoid of redeeming qualities. Parasites . . . → Read More: Making the fleece rounds…

A Christmas gift from an old friend…

CCNF Ascension and her newborn son on Christmas morning in the Arena’s warm room.

Jen headed up the hill Christmas morning at 6 AM to do the same thing we had been doing for the last month: check on our final due female, Ascension, who had been living in the Arena’s warm room since . . . → Read More: A Christmas gift from an old friend…

The end is near

A female we love: Ascension (the dam of Elixir and Centurion) enjoys a quiet moment in the maternity pen at the CCNF Arena. Ascension, who is not in fact due until late December, will be moved into the Arena’s warm room once she gets to within a month or so of her due date.

Life as a blur

Some time over the past couple of weeks we officially passed the halfway mark of our 2013 birthing season. That is to say that there are now more crias on the ground romping around the pastures than there are due females in our maternity pens. I can’t honestly tell you when it was, or the . . . → Read More: Life as a blur

CCNF Elixir: operational!

Cas-Cad-Nac Farm and A Paca Fun Farm are thrilled to announce that our not-quite-2-year-old (his birthday is August 9th) Champion Herdsire, CCNF Elixir, has settled his first females, with multiple pregnancies being confirmed via sonogram! Elixir had been in steady training for his real job since first going home to A Paca Fun Farm after . . . → Read More: CCNF Elixir: operational!

Little Big Man is *back* in the house!

Elixir came home yesterday, delivered to CCNF — and in the air-conditioned comfort of Penny’s car no less — by our friends and his co owners at A Paca Fun Farm in Maryland! I’m looking forward to having him here and trying to get him working in the next few days. There is . . . → Read More: Little Big Man is *back* in the house!

Get back to work slacker!

We got home from a weeks’ vacation this past Sunday night, driving a rental car from Boston through what, at that time, was the latest winter weather blast to hit the northeast. I have to say that landing at Logan in falling snow with little more than a 500′ cloud ceiling was rather disconcerting. At . . . → Read More: Get back to work slacker!

2012: 1st Place Finishes, Championships, and Specialty Awards

It’s that time again, when we look back at the previous year’s show winnings and howl at the moon for just a moment or two. 2012 marked Cas-Cad-Nac Farm’s 15th anniversary and as one might reasonably expect of a program that has been around that long, our winnings reflect the cumulative effect of careful and . . . → Read More: 2012: 1st Place Finishes, Championships, and Specialty Awards
