Breeding season in full swing…

A potent 1-2 genetic punch: Elixir and his not quite 2 year-old brother, Centurion, working in the maiden/open female group earlier this month at the CCNF Arena.

The Herdsires here at CCNF have been working at full bore for about a month now. Though we normally don’t get things going in that regard here . . . → Read More: Breeding season in full swing…

Tree dodging

Some parts of each year are just like this. We of course try to be as proactive as possible about things both in our family life as well as with stuff pertaining to the animals in the herd (as if that were really separate) but ultimately there come moments — and suspiciously they seem to . . . → Read More: Tree dodging

Bringing our Herdsire listings up to date in more ways than one

CCNF Invictus

It has been a while since I’ve really gone through and cleaned up the Herdsire section of our farm’s website. Sorry boys, the females . . . → Read More: Learning to fly…

How can you tell when your females are open and ready for breeding?

When there are 6 of them cushed right up against another breeding! This shot was taken yesterday @5PM at the CCNF Arena. Unfortunately for Precocious (the lucky Herdsire in this particular instance) only one of the others is slated for him in the coming days. I’m sure it’s an ego boost just the same though…

First the boys play…

That’s good friend Pat Badger of Alpaca Grove and Extreme fame this morning @10AM “supervising” a drive-by breeding of his female with Royal Ring of Fire (whom he co owns with us). The attempted making of Space Cowboy 2.0 went off with out a hitch…
