Cas-Cad-Nac Farm’s Consignments at the 2010 National Elite Alpaca Auction: Lot #42 CCNF Andean Dream

The summer of 2010 was the birthing season when we found out what one our newest and shiniest alpaca toys was capable of producing! MFI Peruvian Precocious came to us in 2009 with all sorts of promise—not least of which was the fact that in addition to his general yumminess, he was unrelated to 95% of our female herd—though we were admittedly looking at him primarily as a white/light breeder and only dabbled in breeding him to color. Though it’s far too early to go making any predictions about show results and the like we are nonetheless pretty stoked about the potential of the many Precocious kids that are on the ground already. When he was bred to color, namely Kolanatra (black dam of Golden Guinness, produced a little brown girl named Jabulani)  Magadalena (might of heard of her, produced a DF/LB boy named Magnanimous), and some black female named Opal (probably heard of her, she threw a beige boy named Invictus), the results were very interesting to say the least. Like those females, CCNF Andean Dream comes from a very solid colored genetic background, so the odds of her and Precocious producing a magnificent colored cria are very, very strong.

CCNF Andean Dream

This young lady is the daughter of Andean Bronze and Coya, one of our stalwart imported foundation girls whose older daughter, CCNF Thorn Rosa, was the high selling female at the 2008 National Elite Auction. Combining the colored Peruvian genetics of her dam with the fleece and phenotype so instantly recognizable in offspring of Andean Bronze she has the potential in future years to be bred any number of ways given her parentage and the wide spectrum of colors that have come out of her ancestral lines (white to black and most everything in between). For her first breeding however here at the 2010 Elite we are offering her bred to our Futurity Champion and NAAS Judge’s Choice winner, MFI Peruvian Precocious (co owned with the good folks at Magical Farms), who has already proven with his first crias the ability to throw amazing colored offspring. Please check at auction time for a reproductive update.

Sire: Snowmass Andean Bronze (ARI # 807419)
