CCNF Females at the Snow Diamond Select Auction!
We are proud to again be consigning animals to the Snow Diamond Select Auction to be held October 5th & 6th in beautiful Bend, Oregon! There is always some inherent risk in shipping alpacas clear across the country for the sole purpose of selling them, so obviously we have chosen some special girls to represent us that come from powerhouse genetic lines on both sides of their respective pedigrees.
The first of our two consignments, CCNF Amora — lot #10 at the SDS — is the daughter of Snowmass Sub-Zero, our 6P Monarch son, and CCNF Flirtatious. Because of our tendency to hoard elite females of the same line, Amora is one of 4 full siblings (three sisters, one kid brother) we have from that match here and it is a line that is in the process of imprinting itself even further into our breeding program as we speak. Her oldest full sister, CCNF Daliance, when bred to 2-time Futurity Herdsire of the Year CCNF Elixir, produced a gorgeous white male we named Bataclan. Now, after 2 years of leading our show team, winning among other things 2 Futurity banners, and the White Male Championship at the 2018 AOA National Fleece show, Bataclan has bred over 20 of our own females this summer for 2019 crias. Needless to say, it’s a line we believe in. With that rather pertinent bit of familial history in mind, we are offering Amora at the sale bred and confirmed pregnant to Elixir with a live birth guarantee for a 2019 cria, a cria that potentially encapsulates the very best of our program’s white genetics (Sub-Zero, Archangel, Elite Legend, Precocious)! Our second consignment is a lovely Snowmass Matrix Majesty daughter, CCNF Dominique at lot #33! While her paternal line is obviously very important (Majesty, if such a thing is possible, kind of quietly won both Light AND Dark Reserve Herdsire of the Year for us at the the 2018 Futurity) we also highly value her dam, CCNF Marguerite (Futurity & AOBA Champion in her own right), unquestionably one of the top Ring of Fire daughters in our program. In addition to her famous dam, we also have Dominique’s full older sister, CCNF Margaux, who when bred to Elixir produced our Champion and Judges’ Choice winner, CCNF Nikita. Now given both that fact and the rather interesting history of breeding the aforementioned Light Futurity HoTY with females from the Majesty line in general — names such as Dreadnought, Leviathan, Sentinel, and Valyria come to mind, all ringers in their own right — Dominique’s future owners could safely slum and breed their pretty little show girl with Elixir in 2019 when she comes of age. Another option would be to line breed her with CCNF Sovereign-Legacy (2018 Futurity Fawn Champion and JC Huacaya Male, 2018 AOA National Fleece Show Fawn Champion) who is an Elixir son himself (out of a Majesty daughter) and poised to explode into the colored side of our herd when he comes of age next year.
