CCNF Lunar Quinton on to Bigger Things!

CCNF Lunar Quinton with Jen and three of his new owners, Jeff Joristma, Jean Russel, and Leslie Joritsma, at last weekend’s Alpaca Jamboree in Harrisburg, PA.

Thank you, and congratulations to the good folks at Autumn Mist Alpaca Farm, Cabin View Alpacas, and Russel’s Alpaca Acres for their recent purchase of CCNF Lunar Quinton (CCNF Luna Majesty x CCNF Elixir)! We had gone to last week’s Alpaca Jamboree event in Harrisburg with that yearling member of his storied six full-sibling group (in birth order: Sovereign-Legacy, Nymeria. Triumvirate, Lunar Quartet, Lunar Quinton, and baby Neytiri) in tow, along with his kid sister and 19 others. It was our first outing to a halter show event since last year’s Jamboree, but more on the shenanigans that followed there in the coming days.

Though Quinton had been listed for sale for almost a year now, it’s always a little hard to have people suddenly asking to buy a beloved team member on the spot and take them home right then and there. Of course, two Championships and one Reserve in a single weekend have a way of getting people’s attention. While I will confess to some mild heartache as we walked his yearling companions away from Quinton to reload on our trailer and head home on Sunday afternoon, above all, Quinton is a young male who deserves to work and needs to be used. That one of his initial tasks for the Joritsmas at Autumn Mist will be to breed females from their all-powerful Lucy line — see Double Barrel from that family, who was likewise sired by dear Elixir, and you start to see where the thinking is — is not a bad opening gambit at all. We are just thrilled that our boy has ended up in a situation with breeders where he can hopefully add significant pages to his family’s story. Will Lunar Quinton’s offspring be a potential headache for us in the future? We kind of hope they are because it will mean that he is living up to his potential. Now go and do great things, sweet boy – we’ll be rooting for you over here!
