Kimberly McAllister is my herd health hero(ine)

So while we were running around last Friday afternoon trying to get all the stuff we together that we needed to take the kids up to Montreal for a weekend hockey game I got a text from our herd manager, Kim McAllister: herd health was done. Surely she meant done for the day? Nope, done for the month. DONE. Sweet! As it turned out we had enough CDT and Lepto vaccine hanging around to that Kim, having also shanghaied Jason Godin another member of the staff here, was able to buzz through the entire herd of 230+ animals in 3.5 hours body-scoring them all, giving ADE paste to the juvis, as well as any vaccines to those that were due for them.  All of which means I don’t have to suit up this morning to go chase alpacas as was originally scheduled. This makes Ian happy. Of course it did  snow and sleet about 6″ while we were gone which means that the nice shoveling job I did before we left clearing the 4′ snow drifts away from the back of the house, and the all important grill, is now covered again. Bummer. Hey, it’s not a perfect world…
